Adam Paulsen is one of Auckland Football Federation’s youngest Futsal representatives, turning for the side on the weekend against the Northern Comets as a 17-Year-Old.

With the goal of establishing himself as a successful Futsal National League Player at AFF, Paulsen has a long Futsal career ahead of him after breaking into the first team environment in his teenage years.

Here are five things to know about Adam Paulsen:

Paulsen is a New Zealander with South African descent

Born and raised in New Zealand, Paulsen’s family moved to the country in 1999. Paulsen was born in 2001 and began playing Football here in New Zealand. It is through his family that Paulsen began playing football and then made the switch to Futsal later on.

The Flanker made his debut in the Futsal National League at the age of 15

At a young age, Paulsen stepped on the Futsal court at National League level for the first time, being only 15. Now 17, the youngster has plenty to prove ahead of his season in the Futsal National League with AFF.

Paulsen is still in High School

Despite breaking into the AFF Futsal National League team for the first time as a 15-Year-Old, Paulsen is still currently a high school student. The AFF Flanker attends Selwyn College and is currently sitting his NCEA Level 2 studies this year.

He’s a Fan of his Mother’s Cooking

When it comes to Futsal, everyone is a fan of home-made cooking. In Paulsen’s case, his Mother’s home-made Lasagna is said to be his favourite dish. We’re hoping at some point, Paulsen will bring a plate full of his Mother’s Lasagna to training.

Top Level Athletes Run in the Family

Paulsen is the eldest out of three children in his family. With Paulsen making a name for himself in the Futsal scene within the Auckland region, his brother Alex Paulsen made his mark earlier in the year at the 2018 U16 OFC Championship, representing New Zealand in their successful 2019 FIFA U17 World Cup Qualifying campaign.
