You can check your account on your school HERO app when you click on Finance. We would appreciate it if all outstanding money owed to the school, is paid by the end of the school year. There are a number of children who haven't yet paid for their school camp, it is expected that this is paid before your child goes on school camp, in less than two weeks. Please make arrangements with Wendy, in our school office if you need support with this payment.

Our Year 8 Leavers Dinner is an important and highly regarded annual event, for our Year 8 students, their parents / caregivers and staff. This will be held at the Kaiapoi Golf Club on Monday 12th December from 6pm. We start the evening with speeches and acknowledgments, and then have a buffet style meal together. The cost of the dinner is $32 per person. The school pays for the Year 8 students and parents pay $32 each. Parents are asked to RSVP to Wendy (office@stpatkai.school.nz) by Monday 5th December. Please RSVP after you have paid for your meal, to our School Bank Account: 12 3240 0110384

Unfortunately our Dental Van has been delayed. We were expecting the dental van to arrive this week but they have informed us that due to circumstances beyond their control, they have to reschedule their dental check ups to week 7 - November 28th.

Next week is our Progressive Achievement Testing (PAT) Week for all of our Year 3 - 8 students. They will be tested in the following areas:

Listening Comprehension (Headphones are needed)

Reading Vocabulary

Reading Comprehension

Mathematics

This testing was done in Term 1, 2022 and this gives us an opportunity to compare the results in Term 1 with the results in Term 4. It also gives us as teachers, detailed information about your child's strengths and gaps in these four important areas.

Please note that the dates for Term 4 are on our school website and they are also at the end of our fortnightly school newsletters.

A special thank you to everyone for your ongoing support of our school, we really appreciate it!

Ma te Atua koe e manaaki me to whanau,

God's blessings on you and your family,

Kind regards

Trish McKendry

PTA News & Update ….

PTA  News Week 2 Term 4

Kia Ora St Patrick’s Community.

Please read below to keep up to date with what we are doing.

Face Book Page

Do you follow us on Face Book? This is the best way to make sure you have the most up to date information for all that we are doing. You can find us by searching St Patrick’s Kaiapoi PTA.

Uniform

The next due date for ordering is this Friday 28th October. There will be another date at the end of term for prep for the next year and for the soon to be year 8’s to organise next years hoodies. Please contact us at pta@stpatkai.school.nz with any questions.

Light Party

Thank you so much for the all the AMAZING Tombola jars that were donated last Friday. You all really came up with some cool and fun things to put in those jars! We will have these at the Kaiapoi Light Party next Monday at Wylie Park from 4.30-7.30pm along with bacon sandwiches, hot dogs, drinks, candy floss and more!!! Come and see us and maybe even lend a hand:)

Inflatarun

We have been given the amazing opportunity to run a BBQ at the upcoming Inflatarun down at Murphy Park on Monday 21st November. If you have any time spare we would love some helpers to run this. Even if only for an hour, that would go a long way. Please see form in office or on our Facebook page if you can help:)

Line Marking

Doesn’t it look amazing?! We have a few more things to be added and then it will be done. We are so enjoying seeing all the Tamariki playing and having fun with all the new shapes and activities. Thank you to everyone who takes part in our fundraisers, that make these things possible.

Family Donation

Just a reminder that we offer the 2 types of  Family donation each term. We still have both of these available for term 3 and 4.

This consists of the $150 to one family to assist in paying for an extra curricular activity for a child/children in that family.

Also we have the donation of 1 term of swimming lessons to one child. We feel that it is so important for our children to have confidence in the water and participate in after school activities. We also understand that these things can come with a large cost so we are hoping this can help many families. The swimming lessons will be available at both The Kaiapoi and Rangiora pools and this is valid for whole year, it does not need to be used straight away.

If you would like to apply for either of the above please see Trish McKendry and ask for an application. This is handled very discreetly with only Trish knowing the recipients so please don’t be afraid to apply. You have until the end of each term to apply. It takes a village and we are very happy that we can offer this to our school community.

Please watch for an email survey over the next few weeks. We are planning our direction for next year and we would so love our communities input on this:)
