Welcome to this week's newsletter. News - We have fixed the dates for our kids triathlons at Waikanae this Summer. The first event will be on Sunday 9 December with another event planned for 24 March 2019. You can now enter the first event here. Full details on our website and on the Facebook event page. These events are low-key, lots of fun, super-cheap to enter and open to all primary school-aged children. Thanks to the fantastic support of Thrive Chiropractic on Kāpiti Road, Paraparaumu, the first 30 online entries will receive a free water bottle (to collect at the event).
Race results - Well done to the three club members (Peter Ellis, Liliani Cuevas-Haxton and Rob Calder) who took part in the Bernie Portenski Memorial Trophy (formerly the Round the Masts event). Results here.
- Last week I completely missed Sandi Cooper's fantastic run at the Taupō 50km Ultra. Sandi completed the event in 6:02:59. The results are here. Well done Sandi!
Please let me know if you've taken part in an event (preferably before Wednesday) so it can be included in the newsletter (we do really like to celebrate performances). Training article of the week- Each week, we highlight a training article that might be of interest to runners and triathletes. If you've read an interesting training article recently, let us know and we'll include it in an upcoming Training article of the week!
- Those of you that were at the club's 50th celebrations last weekend would have seen that none of us are getting any younger...! So this week's article takes a look at how to find and maintain peak performance as a masters athlete.

We are affliated to Triathlon NZ and have a number of keen triathletes (and accredited coaches) in the club. We also have a number of social functions throughout the year. If you want to train and compete with the club, you can join us here. Any questions, ask one of our friendly committee members.
Other stuff - Call for newsletter items - if you want some company to train with, you've got a flash new bike and want to sell your old steel workhorse or you've just smashed your half marathon PB (or anything else that might be newsworthy) let us know for inclusion in the next newsletter.
