NELSON COLLEGE RUGBY NEWS
22nd June 2023
What a great school sports exchange it was in Christchurch against Shirley Boy's High School on Monday & Tuesday. The wins were shared four a piece which meant it was competitive, but the friendships forged through billeting with the Shirley Boys' families is what made this exchange special. All boys came away with smiles on their faces and had a blast. We are looking forward to hosting them in Nelson in 2024 already. Thank you to Shirley for hosting us and doing such a good job of making it an enjoyable event.

We hope Old Boys', parents, and supporters in Wellington are able to get to Wellington College and cheer our team on.

Super Rugby Final 2023
We wish our old boys Mitchell Drummond, Leicester Fainga'anuku & Quinton Strange all the best for the final this Saturday! We would have loved to have seen Ethan Blackadder & David Havili also playing and we wish them all the best with their recoveries. It is also great to see so many Nelson College Old Boys representing at the Super Rugby level. 11 players in total this year. Well done to them all.
1st XV News
The 1st XV played a committed Shirley Boy's side and came away with a 29-5 win. It wasn't easy but the team put together five nice tries. The unfortunate part of this game was the injury to Finn Kilworth who now cannot play at Quad next week. We wish Finn a good recovery. Finn will be taking part in the tournament as our new assistant manager which we know he will do a great job at!
Tries to Saumaki Saumaki, Kobe Brownlee, Teina Thompson, Fanua Fa'avae & Sione Mafi. Zyon Ford added 2 conversions.
Next Game: 12:00pm vs. Whanganui Collegiate at Wellington College on Tuesday. Please get along if you can to support them!
Kind Regards
Mark Cochrane
Master in Charge of Rugby
