Dear Old Girls,

At our AGM in Timaru 25th May the same Committee were re-elected except Juliet Shallard did not seek re-election to the Committee. The most exciting event was the conferring of Honorary Life Membership to three of our Old Girls. Julie Newton and Wendy Batchelor (in absentia) for the magnificent work they did in the publication of the School List Book 1911-1986 all those years ago which documents those who attended Craighead and if their grandmother, parent or daughter also attended with names and achievements for many. This involved hours of labour and letters being written around New Zealand and abroad. It is like a dictionary of early Craighead.  Mary Holmes was also made an Honorary Life Member of COGs for her leadership over many years and continued help with the Association. I was delighted to meet with three Havelock North Old Girls recently.

The first week of the third term was full of reports of successes during the holidays of many of the Craighead students competing in a variety of individual or team sports from Gymnastics, NZSS Cross Country in Palmerston North, cycling, hockey, basketball netball ,Rock quest band competitions and Musical Theatre Competitions. The new Chaplain Rev. Stephanie Mander was welcomed after the farewell last term of Rev Lucy Flatt who is now Vicar of St John’s Highfield, Otipua and Kensington.
