We're all set for our first event of the season this coming Saturday, October 28th. Some good fields of cars are registered so we are looking forward to a good night of racing. Thank you all for being ready for the opening meeting and thanks to the visitors for coming along.
A few rules and reminders below along with the meeting timeline to help the event flow.
Papa Clay - It is a requirement of our lease that we clean up the papa every week. It is much easier for each driver or team to pick up their own little bit rather than someone picking up 100 plus lots. We ask you to please consider others, pick up your own clay and place it in the blue papa bins. Also, please do not use these bins for other rubbish as it just adds to the clean up nightmare. If you want to make it easier, we suggest to park your race car on a tarp.
Scrutineering - While the scrutineers fine tune the new electronic scrutineering process, we can expect some delays. Please, if you can, arrive at the track earlier to help us get you all scrutineered and to avoid a back log.
Corporate Box Auction - We have a 20ft Corporate Box available for this meeting. This is being auctioned through our Facebook group. Jump on there to have a bid if you like. :)
Gear checking will again be taking place in the clubrooms. Please take your race gear with you when you go to the clubrooms to sign in.
For safety reasons, we are no longer permitting pedestrians access through pit lane. We have a new gate next to the clubrooms that will be open at the same time as pit lane for any staff, crew, or anyone else that isn't in a permissible vehicle. Please note that this entrance will only accept pre-purchased online tickets. The spectator gate at the other end of the clubrooms will also open early and accepts cash.
Drivers, don't forget your $15 for the ambulance and remember that two people per race car get in free but they must be in the tow vehicle. Also a reminder that no additional vehicles are permitted in the pits. Note: With the increase in our cost for St Johns, we have had to increase the fee.
The pits will be closed to the public at 6:00pm. Each driver is eligible for 8 wrist bands which you will receive as you progress through pit lane.
Driver sign in closing time. Please be aware that driver sign in will finish at 5:00pm and then the grid draws will be done. If you haven't signed in by this time or phoned the track (06) 765 5693 to say that you will be late, then you will not have a grid draw and will start from the rear of the field. Please note that ‘driver sign in’ means the final part where you sign in with SNZ..
Starting from the rear of the field. If you are wanting to start from the rear of the field, please check the box when registering to race.
Grid draws. We will be using an automated system as often as we can for grid draws this season.
Behavior at Stratford Speedway. Please remember that when you are at the track, with your car, wearing your team shirts or our staff shirts, you are representing yourself, speedway and our club. We ask that you please consider and respect those around you and showcase our sport and our wider team in a professional manner.
We would appreciate, if you can please read through our Health and Safety brochure by clicking the button below if you haven't already done so.
