Welcome back to the 2024 season!! There is quite a bit going on at present in preparation for the up and coming 2024 season and we wanted to share some of this with you. The grounds look great with huge thanks to Craig Street for keeping them looking amazing with his new John Deere mower.

These are now open and ready for you to register. It is great to see lots have registered already and we welcome those who haven't yet. This really helps with sorting out teams and coaches.

Coaches
As always we need coaches for these teams. We are VERY lucky at Allenton Rugby Club to have committed coaches for every grade and like previous years we hope this will continue this year. If you would like to be a coach you will also have to register. ***
Age Change
There has been an age change directive from New Zealand Rugby which we have to follow. This is going to align children into their school year groups instead of their age groups. This will affect a few children and teams but it will be manageable. The new cutoff is the 1st of April.
That means your grade is your age at the 1st of April.
If you have any concerns we are happy to discuss these with you. Although it may appear some children are jumping a grade, please take into account the children at the top end of the grade are also going up and its still a 12 month age group.
There is a working bee this Saturday. WE NEED YOUR HELP PLEASE!! We like to take pride in our grounds and clubrooms and if we can all pitch in then it would be a huge help. Hopefully you have seen this on our social media posts. If not jump on Facebook and like our page.
The Ashburton River Trail Marathon is being run by the ARFC for its first year in March. The Marathon sub committee has been busy with its organization over the summer. This will be held on the first weekend of March and will start and finish at the Allenton Rugby Club. There are shorter runs on the Friday night (5km) also with corporate events. Saturday will have the longer events. We are hoping that the kids might enter on the Friday night events. There may be a number of you out there who would like to to enter too. If so please see the flyer below.
We also need some helpers!! There are a range of jobs but mainly helping at drink stations, helping set up, manning the bar, food etc. This could be a great way to reconnect with with your team and get involved. The kids might like to help at drink stations too!
