As we wrap up another thrilling netball season, we want to take a moment to celebrate all the hard work, dedication, and growth each player, coach, umpire, supporter, administrator has shown on and off the court. While the 2024 season may be over, our journey doesn’t stop here. Maintaining fitness and embracing a growth mindset will be key to preparing for 2025. Let’s use this time to strengthen both body and mind, ensuring we return stronger, more resilient, and ready to hit the ground running. Remember, netball is about having fun with our village on and off the court, keep learning, stay motivated and continue building the connections that make our community. Whether it's working on individual skills, setting personal goals, or simply enjoying the camaraderie that netball brings, this off-season is the perfect opportunity to recharge, reflect and grow.
Jacinda Valentine - Netball Mainland Relationship Manager

To our incredible netball community,

It is bittersweet that I share my journey as NetballSmart Development Officer with Netball Mainland comes to an end. As I depart, I want to take a moment to express my deep appreciation for all the support, friendships, and memories we’ve shared through this mahi. It's been an absolute privilege to work alongside such passionate and dedicated Centre’s who give their all to this amazing sport.

From the countless NetballSmart workshops, court-side conversations, to the shared successes and challenges. I’ve been inspired by the commitment, resilience, and dedication to enhancing the sustainability and wellbeing of netball within the Mainland zone. Whether we’ve worked closely together or crossed paths briefly, every interaction has enriched my journey.

To everyone a part of the Mainland whānau - coaches, players, parents, volunteers, and staff – thank you for your knowledge, shared-visions and laughter everyone brings to making a meaningful impact, having been the highlights of my tenure. Together, we’ve made strides toward not just a safer, stronger game, but a brighter future for all who take to Netball.

As I embark on my next chapter, moving to Canada alongside my partner. Know that I will always remain a passionate advocate for this sport that has brought us all together, and I will always carry these memories and experiences with me.

Ngā mihi nunui and much aroha to you all. Keep striving to inspire the next generation!

Please know my final day is Friday 18th October.

With gratitude,
Kiana Gallon

Mental Health Awareness Week

Last week we acknowledged Mental Health Awareness week and shared some tips and reminders to look after yourself.  This year the theme was community which aligns nicely with us at Mainland.  Help and advice is readily available, check out our flyer for more information.

A big thank you to our funding partners
