NELSON COLLEGE RUGBY NEWS
29th September 2021
WHAT A SEASON!!
The 1st XV traveled to Dunedin last week to play in the South Island 1st XV Final against Otago Boys' High School at Forsyth Barr Stadium. The game was a repeat of the 2019 Final where Nelson College defeated Otago Boys' and once again the team came through winning 27-19. This is an outstanding way for the team to finish the year and for many of the team, their time at Nelson College with only 8 players returning. The game was also a milestone game for Captain Ollie Inch who received his gold cap prior to the game with his family there to present it to him. If you missed the final, please click here to see the highlights. For a full report of the game, click here.
This years team have achieved a lot, having played 17 games, winning 15, drawing once and losing only once. They won the Trust Bank Cup twice, the Miles Toyota Championship and now the South Island title.
