SIDELIINE BEHAVIOUR

Our Role is to Encourage, Be Part of the Team.

The Hawkes Bay Rugby Union in conjunction with Sport Hawkes Bay and several other codes have joined together in an initiative to increase positive sideline behaviour. The initiative seeks to identify negative sideline behaviour and then educate the sideline supporters on what is positive sideline behaviour.

There are 5 key message that are generic across all codes

  1. They’re Kids
  2. Coaches are Volunteers
  3. Referees are Human
  4. It’s a Game
  5. Let Success be their Dream

These phases are to remind the sideline that this is not the All Blacks, this is junior sport where all involved have the right to development & grow without negative behaviour adversely affecting the enjoyment.
