DISPENSATION

Clubs are required to play players within their defined age groups for junior (5 to 12 years), youth (13 to 18 years), and senior (18 years plus) football.

There is some flexibility within the junior age bandings, although Capital Football encourages clubs to form teams within their standard age bands e.g. U10 born players playing within an U10 team. However, we do appreciate there are several reasons why this might not be possible e.g. limited playing numbers, kids ideally wanting to play with friends, the physical size of players.

Girls can play in the age group below their chronological age, in mixed football competitions. Girls require dispensation to play down in dedicated girl’s competition

Capital Football has introduced the option of clubs entering teams with individuals who may be half an age group either younger or older, to enable flexibility when selecting teams. This is only for players within the junior framework (U6 to U12) and does not apply to youth players, therefore if an U12 player was seeking to play U13 football they would need to seek dispensation.
