“A Champion team will always triumph over a team of Champions”

I'm excited to be the Head Coach this year as my goals and aspirations for Hastings East is to build a champion team to take to tournament; a team of players that are humble, down to earth, and with an excellent work ethic ready for the challenge. I believe that you have to enjoy what you’re doing and learn to have fun, because if you’re not enjoying the game then why bother playing it? A good hearty team includes family and friends. To ensure success, it is important to know that we need an extension of support to do it, and it is our aim to ensure we bring everyone along for the ride.

As a father of four energetic children ranging from 6-17 years old, I hope to bring enthusiasm, energy, and a love for whanau to the side. I believe it is important to build a good team culture, and I hope that my experience as a Hastings East Wakely Shield Coach can help this Ross Shield Team enjoy the same benefits. As much as we love the game, and it is part of our lives, at the heart of it all is that it is about the kids; achieving success and being part of encouraging and positive team.

Kelly Marsh - Manager
I am a mother of two and work as a school teacher at Te Awa School in Napier. I started my teaching career in Hastings and it's great seeing kids from my old school coming through to represent Hastings East. I am very passionate about children and sport and believe that children learn important and lifelong values through team work, winning, losing and growing together with their team mates. I am excited to be able to contribute to the Hastings East History and hope that we can get a winning team together to take out the tournament this year.
