General Manager – Hawke’s Bay Netball


Hawke’s Bay Netball has an exciting opportunity for a new General Manager to lead the organisation in the next stage of its development.

Hawke’s Bay Netball is the Regional Sports Organisation responsible for the delivery of netball in Hawke’s Bay.  As one of the largest netball centres in New Zealand the General Manager is responsible for leading Hawke’s Bay Netball to ensure that it achieves the strategic goals set by the Governance Board.  

The General Manager must be a team player, organised, have exceptional communication and relationship-building skills, be committed to a programme of continuous improvement, and ensure that Hawke’s Bay Netball connects and inspires the community through netball. 

 We are looking for someone with:

  • Experience in organisational leadership and management of staff
  • Experience of Financial management to ensure the sustainability of Hawke’s Bay Netball (including funding applications)
  • Experience of Planning activities in line with strategic goals and reporting on the outcomes
  • Great communication skills allowing you to liaise with a wide range of stakeholders from volunteers to funders.
  • An understanding of commercial development and a commitment to growth
  • Experience of managing facilities and events​​​​​​​

This is a full-time role that reports directly to the Board.  Experience in sports administration is preferred. Some weekend and evening work is required and as such the role has flexible hours.
