WELCOME TO KAITAIA COLLEGE

Situated in the very Far North of New Zealand, we are a decile two co-educational school. "Kaitaia College has provided education for Year 9 to 13 students for over 90 years. More than 70 per cent of its students are Māori, of whom a significant proportion whakapapa to the local Muriwhenua iwi of Ngāti Kuri, Te Aupouri, Ngai Takoto, Te Rarawa and Ngāti Kahu. Inter-generational connections of whānau, hapū and iwi to the college, as well as strong links to the community’s Dalmatian and European heritage remain key features of the school".  Ero Report June 2019

If you remove the centre of the flax bush
there will be nowhere for the bellbird to reside.
They will go here, there and everywhere.
So if I was asked, "What is the most important thing?",
I would reply, "It is people, it is people, it is people".

Unuhia te rito o te harakeke
Kei hea te komako e ko Whakatairangitia.
Rere ki uta, rere ki tai.
Nau e ki mai He aha te mea nui,
Maku e ki atu "He tangata He tangata He tangata"
