To make it happen - that with strong community support, Makuri children will have the best possible opportunity to grow as confident self directed learners.

At Makuri School this looks like…
our students
receiving strong community support through fund raising events that provide opportunities to participate in many extra activities. These may include William Pike Award, Annual Ski Camp, Rural Network Camps, Kids For Kids Concerts, Leadership Conferences, to name a few.
They are able to participate in a variety of learning methods and settings including participation with other schools and students.
Through participation in many varied activities they will develop into confident, self-directed learners, who are excited and motivated by their learning.
They will be challenged out of their comfort zones and be prepared to take calculated risks.
They will be confident enough to make the ‘right choices’ and able to voice own opinions or views while respecting the views of others.
They will recognise their own uniqueness and respect the uniqueness of others.
They can articulate their next learning steps/goals and know how to achieve them.
They are proud of their own achievements/talents and know how to develop them further to take full advantage of the next stage, or pathway, in their learning journey.
Strong community support through attendance and involvement at Pet days, Prize Giving and Speech Evenings will encourage students to achieve to their highest expectations.
