UMPIRING AT NETBALL HUTT VALLEY

Hutt Valley Netball Umpires Association (HVNUA) support and develop our umpires within the centre to gain knowledge and qualifications.

How do I get involved in umpiring?

All umpire education and training opportunities are provided by the Hutt Valley Netball Umpires Association.

All umpires need to provide their own whistles.

Whistles can be purchased from the office at Netball Hutt Valley for $10 on a Saturday.

For more information on getting involved in umpiring this season or to join the umpires association please email Faye (secretary) on [email protected] or pop in to the umpires room on game day for a chat.

Umpires Association

Get in touch with the umpires association to receive umpire coaching and education to help you on your path to gaining umpire qualifications.

The umpire association has a core group of skill umpire coaches who can support you to learn, develop and gain confidence in your umpiring.

Umpiring on a Monday (year 5&6) or Saturday (year 7&8)

If you want to gain some experience the best way is to take to the sideline and get umpiring.

Once you have completed the umpire courses and have an understanding of the rules it's best to give it a go at applying them.

School teams are often on the hunt for an umpire to support them for the season so reach out to your local school and see if they require any assistance this season.

Development and Representative Tournaments

Annually NHV host and attend a range of development and representative tournaments. We always need volunteers to come along and support our teams through umpiring.

Get in touch with the umpires association if you hold current qualifications and are keen to give umpiring a go at the development or representative level.

There may be some compensation provided for your time - best to check directly with the umpires association for confirmation.
