Trophy and Medal Presentation Guidelines

These guidelines are provided to ensure that trophies and medals are presented in a way that honours the history of the Northern Region and gives due respect to Representative rugby, participating Provincial Unions, the Teams, Referees and the Supporters.

  1. NRRC Secretary and Chairman to ensure the trophies and medals are forwarded to the Host Provincial Union in the week prior to the fixture. 
  2. If there is no final in a grade and the top of the table Provincial Union wins the trophy, the NRRC Secretary and Chairman are to forward the trophy and medals (if provided) to the winning Provincial Union in the week after the fixture.
  3. Host Provincial Unions should ensure they have trophies and medals on hand prior to the fixture.
  4. Host Provincial Unions should appoint a trophy and medal presenter, preferably the Host Provincial Union President, Vice President, Chairman or a Board Member.  For the lower grades, Host Provincial Union NRRC member of host club official may present trophies.
  5. If medals are to be presented please provide an assistant to the Presenter to pass the medals over to him/her to present the medal.
  6. Trophies and medals should be on display to the public during the fixture on a table adjacent to the pitch, making sure the items are secure.
  7. Protocols are by the Secretary provided for presentations - trophy only, trophy and medals for players or, trophy and medals for players and referees.
