Tauira's voice and active participation in decision making is key to ensuring a successful school.

Tauira have lots of ideas to share about their experiences at school and many want to have an opportunity to help shape not only their present environment but also that of future tauira. Our extensive leadership opportunities enable tauira from all year levels to represent not only themselves but their peers in ensuring that enhancing students well-being and success is central to all that the school does. 

All leadership roles are focused on the development of our 3 R’s:

RESPECT, RESPONSIBILITY, RESILIENCE
Me Māhaki, Me Ngākau Titikaha, Me Tohetoa

and leaders are expected to model these within school.

We expect all leaders to feel pride in being a student of Ōpōtiki College and genuinely want to develop themselves, others and the reputation and MANA  of the College.
