Commercial Director

Position Overview: 

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Commercial Director to lead and drive the commercial strategy of Christchurch United. This role is critical in enhancing the club's revenue streams, brand presence, and partnerships. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in commercial management, a passion for sports, and the ability to create and execute strategic business plans.


Key Responsibilities:

Develop and implement a comprehensive commercial strategy to increase revenue and brand value.

  • Identify and secure new sponsorships, partnerships, and commercial opportunities.
  • Manage existing relationships with sponsors, partners, and stakeholders to ensure long-term engagement and satisfaction.
  • Oversee the club's marketing, sales, and promotional activities to maximize exposure and revenue.
  • Lead and inspire a team of commercial professionals, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.
  • Collaborate with the executive team to align commercial activities with the club's overall strategic goals.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and industry developments to stay ahead of commercial opportunities and challenges.
  • Prepare and manage budgets, financial reports, and forecasts related to commercial activities.
  • Ensure all commercial activities comply with relevant regulations and ethical standards.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Sports Management, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a commercial or business development role, preferably within the sports industry.
  • Proven success in developing and executing commercial strategies that drive revenue growth.
  • Strong network of contacts within the sports, corporate, and media sectors.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to think strategically and innovatively to identify and capitalise on commercial opportunities.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Financial acumen and the ability to analyse and interpret financial data.
  • Passion for football and an understanding of the sports industry's commercial landscape.

Cashmere Technical Football Club (CTFC) is one of the most successful football clubs in the South Island and boasts a rich history of nurturing talent at all levels. Our club prides itself on fostering a culture of teamwork, dedication, and sportsmanship, instilling these values in every player who wears our jersey. From grassroots development programs to elite-level competitions, CTFC provides a pathway for players of all ages and abilities to thrive and reach their full potential. Reporting to the Board, the club is now seeking an energetic, committed and people centric General Manager to take the club on a journey to the next level of sporting excellence.


The Role
The purpose of the role is to support the CTFC Board in achieving the strategic goals and aspirations of the Club. Taking responsibility of operational excellence by leading, developing, and managing all aspects associated with the day-to-day running of CTFC. Maintaining and developing a committed volunteer base and engaging positively with our members and wider CTFC community.

About you

The desired skills, experience & attributes that are required for this role include:

  • Proven ability to work effectively with a Board or other management group and to work with minimal supervision.
  • Experience leading, managing, and motivating small, dedicated teams.
  • Demonstrated high level written and oral communication skills and the ability to communicate with influence.
  • Operational management experience.
  • Sponsorship/marketing/fundraising/grants knowledge.
  • Experience working with budgets.
  • Knowledge of facilities and assets.
  • Passion and knowledge of football.
  • Experience in community not-for-profit organisation is desirable.

General Manager / Female Development Officer

We're looking for a superstar to join the FC Whanau in the role of General Manager and or Female Development Officer.  Though the two roles are quite different, we are open combining these roles for the right candidate.  

The General Manager role will work closely with the Chairperson, Director of Football, and the Management Board, you'll oversee the delivery of the Club's strategic plan and take responsibility for operational delivery excellence, administration, communications, health & safety requirements, meeting and on-field organisaiton of teams, and provide operation duties as required.  

The Female Development Officer will report directly to the General Manager and work towards growing female football in Otautahi.  This will include on-pitch delivery, in-school programmes and after-school programmes.  FC Twenty 11 will work with the appointed Female Development Officer to assist them furthering their coaching qualification including a JL3 or C-Licence should the wish.
