Our History

Trampoline has been present in Central Hawkes Bay at varying times since the late 1960’s, thanks initially to a college teacher from England, Iris Temple. Wayne Marsh, an ex-student and present club coach, instigated the beginnings of the “Ricochet Trampoline Club” in 1992 back at the Central Hawkes Bay College Gym. The club then shifted to the Waipawa United Rugby Gymnasium, where it was officially incorporated on February, 1993. Stationed there for 5 years, the club needed to find facilities where the equipment could be left out permanently, and found a  facility to lease behind Mobil Waipukurau in 1996 – 97.The move also saw a growth in numbers and many achievements.

Unfortunately the sale of the property and adjacent poperty in 2010 saw the club without a home for a short time. It then was able to establish itself at the War Memorial Hall in 2011 to present.

Many of our club members have represented NZ in various countries i.e. Australia, Japan, Canada, Denmark, Germany, The Netherlands, South Africa, Portugal, and United States, England, Bulgaria, with admirable results and pleasing assurance that, a small town club can compete at international level.
