Rodney Otamatea Junior Rugby is a small sub-union of Northland Rugby Union and consists of five clubs and associated college teams.  We report through to the Rodney Sub Union of Northland Rugby. 

Junior Rugby in our area includes all grades for kids aged between 4-18 years old.  Junior Rugby consists of both JMB Rugby (Under 7 to Under 13 grades) and IMB Rugby (Under 14 to Under 18 grades).  

Rodney Otamatea Junior Rugby is responsible for the administration and promotion of Junior Rugby within the Rodney Otamatea Sub Union.  This includes assisting associated clubs with the operation of a junior rugby competition in the area.  Junior Rugby includes all levels for kids aged between 4-18 years old.

Our objectives are to:

  1. To promote and grow Junior Rugby within the Rodney Otamatea  Sub Union area.
  2. To foster and encourage Junior Rugby throughout the Rodney Otamatea Sub Union area
  3. To arrange, and regulate rugby matches among the associated junior clubs in the area.
  4. To select and support junior representative teams within the Rodney Otamatea Sub Union area.
  5. To act in the best interests of all junior rugby participants.

​​​​​​​Rodney Otamatea Junior Rugby Committee

The Rodney Otamatea Junior Rugby Committee is made up of one or two delegates from each of the associated clubs.  The committee meets on a regular basis to discuss and make decisions on behalf of rugby in our area.  They are also responsible also for overseeing Representative Rugby in the area.
