Registering of players

  • All players must register with our club and Selwyn on line
  • At start of season secretary sends team lists to Selwyn. Each player is then “registered” in that team.
  • A maximum of 12 players .
  • During the season new players can be added to the team lists- this is done by that player completing the on line registration form. This must be done on or before the Friday before the game. Players can not be registered on the Saturday at the office and play that day.
  • Any new player registrations and de-registrations need to  be told to our secretary
  • Each registration of a new player and deregistration costs $5.00- the club is invoiced for this
  • Players can play in a higher team than they are registered in but not in a lower team.
  • Social and masters grades- players must be 18 or above
  • When a player plays in a higher team put an upward arrow by their name on the score card and which team they are registered in. If that player does not take the court during the game then cross their name off at the end of the game, otherwise they are deemed to have taken the court.
  • If an unregistered player takes the court the team can lose their points for that game, also if a player plays in a lower team- points are lost
  • Once a player has played in a higher team 3 times they have to remain in that team – please let our secretary know when this occurs. This does not include grading day
  • To play in semifinals and finals a player must have played on 3 separate Saturdays for our club after they have been registered. They only need to play one quarter of a game. It does not matter which team they have played for. A player can play in the final in a higher team even if they have never played in that team before.
  • If a player has been de-registered then registered again, they have to play 3 Saturdays after their second registration to be able to play in finals and semis

Score cards

  • The scoring is done for all games using the Selwyn Sporty App
  • The team will need to provide someone to score using the app each week.
  • Each week the team organiser has to enter which players take the court using the app.
