ECNC Concerns and Complaints Procedures

For concerns during a match due to player, coach, spectator or game official behaviour the Selwyn Netball Centre Concerns and Complaints Process is to be followed.

For concerns about ECNC players, parents, spectators or officials in netball matters relating to our club, the ECNC Concerns and Complaints procedures are to be followed.

A) Minor concerns

These may be able to be dealt with by the team coach or relevant committee member.

B) More major complaint or when no resolution from A)

Contact the ECNC president.

The problem may be able to be resolved by the President or the President may recommend that a formal complaint is made.

C) Formal complaint

These are for serious incidents

Formal complaints must be made in writing.

The president will form a complaints committee of 3 committee members to investigate and resolve the issue.

The complaints committee members must not be relatives or close friends of anyone involved and be impartial. All information is confidential within the complaints committee.

Anyone who is being complained about must be informed about the complaint and asked to give a written statement of their version of the incident.

The complaints committee will investigate the complaint, obtaining statements from parties involved and any witnesses if applicable.

The complaints committee will then decide on any actions to be taken.

An appeal of these decisions can be made to the ECNC committee and after that Selwyn Netball Centre Board. Appeals must be lodged within 14 days. Both parties will be notified of the outcome.
